Woman Suing the Makers of YAZ Contraceptive Pills for Personal Injury When Beth Minor began taking the oral contraceptive, known as YAZ or Yasmin, she was attracted to the list of menstrual symptoms that the drug claimed to be able to relieve or cure. On the commercials, YAZ said that it was a cure for pre-menstrual tension, irritability, moodiness, fatigue, headache and muscle pain. It also claimed to be a solution to acne problems.
Eventually, Minor found that Bayer, the maker of the drug, had lead a deceptive advertising campaign and, on top of that, had failed to list all of the potential side effects of the pill. She found out a few weeks after taking the pills that she had Grave's disease.
All of the symptoms of Grave's disease are consistent with the symptoms listed on the YAZ bottle. Though the disease has not been linked to the drug, Minor finds it suspicious that she was diagnosed only six weeks after beginning to take the contraceptive.
The disease is characterized by tremors, fatigue, insomnia, muscle weakness, rapid heartbeat, anxiety, excessive perspiration, light periods and insatiable hunger. If you or someone you love is suffering from these side effects and has recently begun to use YAZ or Yasmin birth control pills, contact a medical professional immediately.
Then, call the legal experts at the law office of Porter and Korvick. Minor is currently suing Bayer for false advertising and also for personal injury, which she feels can be directly linked to her usage of YAZ.
